1. Veronica's Favorite: Blueberry Cheesecake

Location: Central Bloc, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu

To all blueberry cheesecake lovers, this one's for you! There isn't much in life that you love more than the magical feeling you get when you take your first bite of blueberry cheesecake and savor its scrumptious and rich taste. And the blueberry cheesecake from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf didn’t fail to give that magical feeling (P155/slice). The delectable dessert features a crumbly graham crust with a soft, creamy cheesecake filling that is topped with a glossy blueberry sauce and garnished with sliced blueberries. The graham crust complements the fluffy cheesecake filling so well that you'll want to devour it over and over again.

Its luscious blueberry sauce adds a delightful touch to the creamy cheesecake, giving it the perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavor. And the sliced blueberries on top bring a wonderful contrast to the creamy layer, providing a burst of flavor on your tongue with each bite.

2. Allysa's Favorite: Igloo Ice Cream Cake

Location: Shell Robinsons Mobility Station - Cebu City

If you want a delicious show-stopper of a cake, look no more! This three-layer ice cream cake from Mon Dough is cool, chewy, and creamy on the inside, and delightfully warm chocolatey on the outside. The Igloo Ice Cream Cake covers layers of decadent chocolate ice cream, chewy marshmallow filling, and rich, moist chocolate sponge cake, making it the perfect combination for anyone with a sweet tooth. This cake might not look presentable to some, but wait till you taste it. It's downright irresistible! Each bite is sweet and luscious, with textures and flavors that complement each other. It's a must-try! This delectable ice cream cake from Mon Dough will definitely satisfy your ice cream cake cravings and bring a cheerful gleam to your face.

3. Bridget's Favorite: Ube Halaya Mini Cake

Location: G/floor Bonifacio District, F. Cabahug St, Cebu City

The critics have already fallen under the spell of this particular cake and it's easy to see why. Dragonfly Café’s Ube Hilaya Mini Cake (P155/slice), is noted for its vivid purple appearance and exceptional ube flavor that lingers in your mouth a few seconds too long. It is also important to point out that you can never go wrong with this treat, if you’re craving for ube right now then this one’s a prime choice. The cake itself is divine and its probably the highlight of our third pastry hopping experience.

In terms of presentation, the cake is neatly served on an elegant porcelain with no additional speck of plating. Delving into its composition, the purple slice boasts several features including its moist chiffon ube cake layers, ube halaya and coconut cream frosting, ube powder, and macapuno filling. Just a forkful of this delight would definitely satiate your Filipino dessert craving. It's not too sweet and it’s not lacking in sweetness either, perfectly balanced just like an authentic classic. We haven’t even had any leftovers because it’s just way too good! (chef’s kiss 100)

4. Dea's Favorite: Sugar-free Ube Pandan Cake

Location: Central Bloc, Cebu City

If you have a sweet tooth and happen to be health-conscious then, we bet you’d salivate over this appetizing, colorful, and scrumptious-looking Sugar free Ube Pandan Cake that is assured to be sugar-free! It was really delicious and everyone was amazed at how gorgeous it was. My first bite certainly showcased that the cake immediately succeeded in bringing out the mouthwatering taste of a usual cake, regardless of it being sugar free. The texture of the cake was so soft, smooth, and fluffy.

Taste wise, the pandan flavor was prominent compared to the ube flavor and it tasted very natural as well. The cake is also generously smothered with yema filling, which I totally loved. Indeed, this cake not only looked beautiful but the taste is undeniably astonishing as well and truly lived up to expectations. We recommend you pair this cake with a hot coffee. Overall, you can always have a mouthwatering sugar free cake and still stay fit with the help of 10 Dove Street’s Sugar free Ube Pandan Cake.

5. Rizbelle's Favorite: Rainbow Cake

Sweet Stop: Tamp Cafe & Co.

Location: 12 President Aguinaldo Street, Cebu City

If there is a cake in which every slice is a colorful journey of deliciousness, then that would definitely be the Rainbow Cake. With layers of bright rainbow-colored chiffon cake with homemade vanilla frosting and filling and finished off with colored candy sprinkles, Tamp Cafe & Co.'s Rainbow Cake has a great flavor and good texture.

Their signature rainbow cake stacks brightly colored rainbow layers: red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. There's something about seeing the rainbow hues that uplift our mood. When it comes to taste, this colorful rainbow cake looks too sweet, but looks can be deceiving. It is not too sweet, just the right amount of sweetness. And the homemade vanilla filling adds a soft, creamy texture that complements the dense rainbow cake layers. Indeed, this bright and show-stopping rainbow layer cake with sprinkles fulfills every child's and child at heart’s dream, be it in terms of presentation or taste. We can't find the right words to describe how much we adore this colorful stack of pure joy. This vibrant rainbow cake has brightened our day, and we hope it has the same effect on you.

6. Kerstein's Favorite: Black Sesame Cake

Location: G/floor Bonifacio District, F. Cabahug St, Cebu City

Wow, what a unique name for a cake! Indeed, if you’re a fan of black sesame and cakes, then it’s time for you to taste the unique nutty flavor of black sesame in this captivating mousse cake. The presentation of the cake is so astonishing considering the seeds give a lovely texture and look great in the cake. For its taste, it is actually surprisingly and uniquely deep, nutty and toasty. Yes, it tastes so light and airy! It’s not sweet at all, rather it has a slightly bitter taste. Therefore, a healthy alternative if you have a sweet tooth and happen to be health-conscious.

Additionally, if you work out consistently and are strictly on a certain diet that keeps away from sweet cakes then, here's the alternative. You can always have a mouthwatering Sesame Cake from Dragonfly Café and still stay fit. Lastly, we highly recommend having this stunner cake with a cup of hot coffee or chocolate drink in the afternoon.
